How it works

Three steps with the sponge in the tub

You use a little paste at a time. The foam does the work, so press lightly and let the sponge move. The same three steps go for every tub in the Shadazzle family of cleaners.
  1. 1Wet the spongeRun it under the tap and squeeze it out, so it is damp, not dripping.
  2. 2Rub it on the pasteA few turns on the surface of the paste is enough. Work the sponge until it foams.
  3. 3Clean, rinse, dryMove the foam over the surface, rinse well, then wipe dry with a clean cloth so no white film is left behind.

What is inside

Four ingredients on the tub

This is the ingredient list the label gives for Cleaner & Polish, with what each one is there for.
Clay
A fine mineral powder. It is the part that lifts film and burnt-on marks as you rub.
Vegetable oil
Plant oil, part of the paste that turns to lather on a wet sponge.
Vegetable glycerin
Keeps the paste soft in the tub, so the sponge picks it up without digging.
Fragrance
Lemon, eucalyptus, grapefruit, lavender or mint & lime, depending on the tub you pick.

Where it works

Where the paste goes, and where it does not

Hard, washable surfaces are its job. A few surfaces are better left to something else, the label names them, and the rest of the Shadazzle cupboard covers most of them.

Since 2013

A small range, kept small on purpose

Shadazzle has been on the market for 13 years, and Cleaner & Polish is still the center of it: the clay paste in a round tub, made in France, with the sponge inside. Everything else in the range sits next to it in your cupboard, one product per job.

Questions

What you ask about Shadazzle

What is in a tub of Shadazzle Cleaner & Polish?

A 10.58 ounce tub of clay paste with a sponge sitting on top. The label lists clay, vegetable oil, vegetable glycerin and fragrance, and the tub is made in France.

How do you use Shadazzle on your sink or faucet?

Wet the sponge and squeeze it out, rub it on the paste until it foams, and clean with light pressure. Rinse well, then dry with a clean cloth, so the surface does not dry with a white film. For a glass cooktop, check its manual first. The full steps are on how to use Shadazzle.

Can you use Shadazzle on your wood table or marble counter?

Not the paste. Its label leaves out wood, marble, natural stone and brass. For finished wood there is the Natural Wood Restorer, which goes on with a cloth.

Which Shadazzle scent should you start with?

The paste is the same in all five tubs, so pick by smell. Lemon is the one in the set and the only scent sold three to a pack. Mint & lime is the newest and comes one tub at a time.

How long does a tub of Shadazzle last you?

The label asks you to use the paste sparingly: a few turns of the damp sponge make enough foam for a sink or a cooktop. How long a 10.58 ounce tub lasts depends on how much you clean, and it is meant to sit in the cupboard for a good while.

Why does Shadazzle leave a white film on your faucet?

Paste left to dry on a surface can leave a white residue. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and wipe dry with a clean cloth. A nanofiber cloth does that last wipe without lint.
